羅省中華會館大事記要

MAJOR EVENTS

羅省中華會館雖然在新華埠興建大樓，擁有永久會址和樓業，但在經歷搬遷之後，過去在舊華埠
時期的歷史資料已蕩然無存，難有確切資料可作考據。早在1996年趙尚賢擔主席時，本會館首
度彙編發展史略，然已時隔逾甲子，即使動員許多前輩和華埠老人口述歷史，能夠補綴一、二的
也僅限於新華埠時代。因此，在暗潮洶湧的排華時期，理應最是跌宕起伏和可歌可頌的史實或軼
事，乃至於華埠各個社團或是個人，如何與惡劣的大環境抗爭，最終在個人的崗位上建立功業的
篇章，均已佚失。故本會館之歷年大事，只能從全僑支持祖國對日抗戰說起。

1937年7月7日，日本軍隊在中國北平（現 在中國抗日戰爭的最艱難時期，海外華僑
稱北京）西南宛平縣的盧溝橋附近演習， 從精神和經濟上支持祖國抗戰。由於當時
